The Growler Plus provides a fast, yet accurate, test of armatures and field windings. Suitable for both 120 and 240 volt products. |
| Testing Armatures |
| The armature is rotated in the Growler Plus, while monitoring the meter. A dip in the reading identifies the location of an opening in the windings. A rise in the reading identifies a shorted turn or commutator bar. |
Testing Field Windings
A measurement is made across one of the two field coils. A comparative reading is then made across the second coil. A difference in the readings indicates a shorted or open coil |
